UNM: Institute for Infrastructure Surety

“Although we have been working on various aspects of this problem across the School of Engineering and with colleagues in Arts & Sciences, the awarding of the DTRA University Strategic Partnership Program has provided the impetus to found this Institute.”

It looks at three areas:  Complexity Theory/Networks, Communication and Control, and Physical Threats.  This institute was funded through the contract given by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to UNM to study High Power Electromagnetic Threats to Critical Infrastructure.  See https://elloborojo.wordpress.com/2010/07/07/unm-gets-grant-of-over-50-million-from-army-in-2003/

The first director was Edl Schamiloglu, the developer of the E-Bomb:  https://elloborojo.wordpress.com/2010/07/07/unm-sponsors-research-on-the-e-bomb/

Schamiloglu also published a paper on High Power Microwave Weapons:  http://ece.unm.edu/ifis/papers/MTT.pdf

The collaborating organizations are the New Mexico Office of Homeland Security, Air Force Research Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico State University, University of Maryland, and Ohio State University.  The sponsoring agencies are Defense Threats Reduction Agency, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Air Force Research Laboratory/DEHE, National Science Foundation, Structural Dynamics Engineering Division, Sandia National Laboratories.

About elloborojo

Okay, as the subtitle states, this is a notebook from what I call a New Mexico diaspora (look up diaspora if you are asking). I was a former resident of New Mexico, now living elsewhere, but New Mexico is still my homeland. To get more in touch with your homeland one must be away from it. This is my attempt to understand it. I was a former anti-militarism activist in the Albuquerque area. Still believe that United Snakes militarism is the greatest threat to the world, as do the majority of the worlds population. Uncovered much information about the ties in New Mexico, but never processed it all. This blog is an attempt to do that. Also hope it may come of use to others with similar interests.
